CoinGate, registered as UAB “Virtualios Valiutos“ and based in Vilnius, Lithuania, is a payment gateway for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and other cryptocurrencies. Our main business and mission is providing a simple software solution for online and retail businesses to accept this new and rapidly growing kind of payments globally. In addition, CoinGate also offers customers several ways to purchase or sell Bitcoin, acting as a brokerage.

HISTORY
CoinGate was established in 2014 by the current CEO Dmitrijus Borisenka and his two friends and partners. The team was introduced to Bitcoin and Blockchain in early 2011 and gradually became passionate about cryptocurrencies, ultimately deciding to build and launch CoinGate. The business has been active since 2015, while the year 2017 has been the year of growth and maturity for the product. CoinGate now caters for over active 1,000 merchants and has a userbase of over 30,000.
