ABOUT BITONIC
Bitonic is the largest and oldest bitcoin broker in The Netherlands. Bitonic was founded in May 2012 by Jouke Hofman, Niels van Groningen and Robert de Waard. Bitonic has since grown to 11 FTEs and sold over 300 000 bitcoins.
SERVICES
Bitonic’s main service (bitonic.nl) is offering instant bitcoin purchases through iDEAL and Bancontact, and bitcoin sales through SEPA transfers. Bitonic also runs BL3P (bl3p.eu), the only bitcoin exchange platform in the Netherlands. BL3P was launched in April 2016 and has been live in Europe since December 2016. BL3P is available in all European countries and holds Dutch bank accounts to process EUR transactions. In addition to the two exchange services, Bitonic provides a merchant solution which allows not-for-profit organisations to accept bitcoin donations free of charge and facilitates bitcoin transactions for commercial businesses by co-operating with a regulated payment service provider (Mollie). Bitonic has a partnership with the Dutch Public Prosecution Service, Openbaar Ministerie (OM), to store and sell seized bitcoins through a specifically designed wallet solution. Through Bitonic Academy, Bitonic uses its knowledge and experience to educate, support, inform and advise public and private organisations on operating in the world of Bitcoin. Finally, Bitonic runs bitcoin.nl. Bitcoin.nl offers information for new Bitcoin users and frequent news updates and is the main Bitcoin news source for Dutch readers.
