
On the 27th of January 2026, the European Parliament appointed MEP Eero Heinäluoma (S&D, Finland) as the Rapporteur for the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) Draft Report on the European Commission’s proposal for a Directive as regards the further development of capital market integration and supervision within the EU (Master Directive). It also appointed the following MEPs as Shadow Rapporteurs for the legislative file: Markus Ferber (EPP, Germany), Giovanni Crosetto (ECR, Italy), Kira-Marie Peter Hansen (Greens/EFA, Denmark) and Gaetano Pedullà (The Left, Italy).
The public consultation on the proposal, which the European Commission launched on the 15th of December 2025, is open until the 16th of March 2026 (midnight Brussels time). Interested stakeholders can submit their feedback at the following link.
