The European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS) has published a study entitled ‘Digital Finance: emerging risks in crypto-assets: Regulatory and supervisory challenges in the area of financial services, institutions and markets’, a European Added Value Assessment (EAVA) accompanying the legislative initiative report (with the same title) 2020/2034(INL), prepared by European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) whose rapporteur is MEP Ondřej Kovařík (Renew, Czechia). EP legislative initiative reports are automatically accompanied by EAVAs.
The study assumes that there are three areas that are crucial to the future development of crypto-assets and digital finance:
1. Common framework for crypto-assets;
3. data strategy.
